The Gardener’s Cottage

Tucked away at the bottom of Corinda’s magnificent garden, surrounded by mature trees and carefully manicured yew hedges, this delightful little private hideaway awaits you. The Cottage has its own discrete access, with dedicated secure off-street parking from Glebe Street, but it can be reached just as easily through the garden from the main house.

Approached via a sunny little verandah, the Cottage boasts a comfortable sitting space with wood burning fireplace, sofas, an open plan eating area with French doors to its own back garden, a compact but well planned kitchen, a laundry area and a delightful Vintage-style bathroom with, hidden behind polished wooden doors, a functioning Jacuzzi bath and shower!

Upstairs, a spacious bedroom with windows on three sides occupies the whole first floor. The Queen size bed boasts a polished and panelled head board.

The interior sprung mattress and quilted latex overlay were handmade for us right here in Hobart by A H Beard, a specialist bedding firm founded 120 years ago. The sheets and pillowcases are of finest quality Egyptian cotton.

The Cottage is full of genuine memorabilia and quaint bric-a-brac, but today’s basics are all there, somehow carefully hidden so as not to spoil the period atmosphere. There’s flat screen TV, free wifi, fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster, washing machine, ironing board, iron: you name it, we’ve done our best to lay it on. Cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware, firewood, firelighters and matches are all to hand, together with a few basic supplies, including essential local wines and beer.

This way, you can start your Tasmanian holiday the moment you arrive. And, when morning comes, why not join us on the sunny verandah of the big house for an unforgettable Tassie gourmet breakfast?
